CH 04Concept — spec work

Lock

FULFIL's competition isn't Quest. It's the candy bar two feet to the left. The brand doesn't sell performance — it sells permission.

The problem

FULFIL holds roughly 3% of the US nutrition bar category against Quest at 21.8% and Clif at 18.5%, with a parent guiding to a 30% year-over-year increase in brand investment. At 3% share the instinct is to fight the leader on the leader's ground — more protein, better macros, harder claims. That fight is unwinnable and off-brand, because the protein blend is precisely what a competitor would attack.

The audience

Collagen in the blend, a beauty ingredient rather than a sports-nutrition one. A Peloton instructor as ambassador, from a platform 67% owned by women. Press in Women's Health, not Men's Health. Grocery and Trader Joe's, not supplement retail. The category skews 57% male. FULFIL is not chasing the middle — it is taking the half the leader neglects.

The idea

Lock the bar to the frame and let her life move around it. The camera is rigidly fixed to the product. The bar sits in exactly the same pixels for the entire spot — same hand, same grip, same angle — while the world behind it changes completely: a sidewalk at golden hour, the passenger seat of a moving car, a supermarket confectionery aisle, a crowd at dusk. One fixed point in a life that will not hold still.
